Gulf Coast Fishing Report - Orange Beach

Capt. Don McPherson
August 21, 2006
Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Red snapper, grouper, scamp, sailfish, blackfin tuna...

We have really seen some variety in the last 2 weeks. The 12 hour trips are still producing grouper, scamp, red snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, vermillion snapper and even a balckfin tuna and a sailfish on a day trip. It is that time of the year for the white marlin to show. We can target white marlin, wahoo, tuna and always a chance to catch a blue marlin on our 12 and 14 hour offshore trolling trips.

The 4 hour trolling is still good for spanidh and king mackeral. The 6 hour trips are still producing some mackeral and snapper.

We had an awesome Full Day trip on the Getaway last week with a red snapper weighing over 20 lbs, a big blackfin tuna, scamp, grouper, almaco jack, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, king mackeral and a sailfish probably weighing 80 to 90 pounds. The offshore action is here. Book a 12 or 14 hour trip and let's go offshore. See all the pics below.
