October 29, 2012 - Fishing Update

Anna Maria - Saltwater Fishing Report

Anna Maria Fishing Charters - Fishing Report Oct. 29, 2012 - There are a lot of kingfish that migrated into our area. They were following large bait schools a few miles outside all the areas passes. Chumming or slow trolling big sardines were productive. Tom Rushmore and crew hooked more than two dozen kings with the biggest near thirty pounds. Kingfish will hopefully stay for another month. Large
spanish mackerel were being caught nearshore and around all the bays reefs. Lots of big spanish were in the 6 pound range. Nice blacktip sharks were also roaming these same areas. They were a hitting on any bloody cutbait. On the inshore scene there are good schools of snook in the areas bays and bayous. All snook must be released at this time. Reds were in skinny water scattered throughout the bays. Trout are stilll on the smaller size but their sizes should increase as the water cools. Flounder fishing has been the best in years. Bottom fishing shiners or soft plastics have been producing flounder up to 20 inches.
