Dolphin Fishing off Fort Lauderdale aboard Hooked Up
November 25th, 2011
Dolphin Fishing off Fort Lauderdale
Today we set out on our fishing trip with Frank, Beth, Kennedy and Parker all from North Carolina.
Once again we went right to kite fishing with live baits in about 200 feet of water.
Once all the baits were set out and the trap was set it did not take long till our first bite.
We had a nice dolphin fish jump on our left long kite bait followed up right away with another dolphin at the same time on our right long kite bait.
It turned out to be a good day to be dolphin fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale and I want to once again thank all of our anglers for choosing to fish with us aboard the Hooked Up.

Deep Sea Fishing off the Coast of Fort Lauderdale with Tom and Eric
November 23rd, 2011
More Deep Sea Fishing of the coast of Fort Lauderdale
There is nothing I enjoy more than writing fishing reports about all the fish our angler caught off the coast of fort Lauderdale aboard the Hooked Up.
But I do pride myself on writing what we caught and also on what we did not catch. I am sorry to say that today was just one of those days where fishing was just plain old slow.
We headed out fishing with Eric from Texas and Tom from Fort Lauderdale and went right to kite fishing with live baits on the surface and dead baits down deep.
While Tom was able to land a nice dolphin fish for dinner that was the only fish we managed to get into the box today.
Tom and Eric thanks again for going deep-sea fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale aboard the Hooked Up and I promise we will make it up to you guys next time.

Frank and Chris Sail Fishing Fort Lauderdale
November 21st, 2011
Fort Lauderdale Sail Fishing
Winter is here and the time is NOW to go sail fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
Today we had Chris and Frank from New Jersey out off the coast of Fort Lauderdale and sailfish was just the fish we were after.
We set out both kites in about 180 feet of water with 2 live goggle eyes (Live Baits) suspended from them. Ok so the trap was set and than all of a sudden BAM a sailfish showed up and within seconds we were Hooked Up.
Frank jumped in the chair and the fight was on. After a good 20 min back and forth tug a war we finally had Frank's sailfish next to the boat.
Soon after that Chris found himself doing battle with a nice dolphin fish. After a 5 min battle Chris had his dolphin in the box.
Frank and Chris thanks again for going sail fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale aboard the Hooked Up.

Fishing With Ben and Jay in 5 to 7 foot seas Caught Sailfish and Shark
November 18th, 2011
Today we had Jay and Ben both from Denver Colorado.
It was a tough day with the seas being every bit of 5 to 7 foot with a hard 25-knot wind out of the N.E.
With brilliant blue water you would have thought that the sailfish should have been snapping.
However that was not the case with a good 6 to 8 boats out there all flying their kites with live baits suspended from them and not a bit!
We just had no current to get the fish moving.
We were all talking on the radio trying to figure out how deep everyone was fishing to see if maybe the fish were coming through deeper or shallower. Ether way we all jockeyed around from 100 feet out to 180 and back again.
Finally we got the bite and it was a big sailfish. Ben jumped in the chair and the fight was on.
As Ben was doing battle we had another bite on our right long kite bait. We felt for sure we had hooked into a double header but the other fish turned out to be a 4-foot silky shark.
Great no bites and now once we get the bite we get a shark on at the same time with these big waves crashing all around us.
But we just took things slow and within 15 min we had both fish to the side of the boat at the same time.
Way to hang in there guys!!
I tried to get both fish in the same picture frame but the best I could do was a not so nice picture of the sail in the water.

(I HAD TO GO BACK TO HANGING ON)
Guys you truly are Vikings. (LOL)
Thanks again Ben and Jay hope next time it is not quite as rough.

Hi my name is Taco and I run one of the best charter fishing boats down here in South Florida. WHY? Because I’ve been fishing the waters down here since 1969 and I started at the bottom and worked my way up the ladder. I know what it is like to read a web site and than once you get to boat things are not as you thought they would be. Not here I say it like it is. No surprises. I’ve got a 45 foot Hatteras with a big cock pit. Fully aircondishened and refrigerated. Big comfortable platform.
