Inshore bites but nearshore is getting hot

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
January 16, 2011
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Charters on Sat/Sun produced jackcrap (new word) but nearshore trolling was surprisingly productive. Water temps "spiked" to 58 and in my wildest dreams NEVER did I think a grouper would feel like chasing a lure down in cold water temps. Allow me to amend the last sentence. The fish I caught stuck at the first lure and then along came the second lure. It was bizarre but staggering works. 200FT on Lure A and 150FT on Lure B.

If you think I'm blowing smoke. don't try it. When you read these things one must come to a decision as to whom to believe and who might just be a fishing non-truth teller. KNOW THIS. NOT ONCE did we score a KEEPER GROUPER on Lure B.

Slammed with charters this week. Looking forward to feeding you some great scoop. "GiddyUp"
