Finally, the water temperatures are warming up(72-74) and that means the cobia and tarpon will passing through. The nearshore wrecks are producing great fishing due to all the bait stacked on them. The cobia bite is heating up as they stop to feed on these structures while they head up the coast. Choice of bait is thread herring or pinfish. When fishing for cobia work the whole water column and make sure you have a pitch bait ready for the ones that pop up near the boat. Also, good numbers of trout are showing up on these structures. A knocker rig with a live pilchard will get it done. The tarpon should be showing up any day now.

The inshore fishing has turned on with the water temps warming up and with the tides being higher. The redfish bite is getting better. Fish nice overhangs and oyster bars on the higher stages of the tide. Using a mutu-lite 1/0 with a split shot six inches above the hook and fresh cut herring or live pilchards will entice these fish.
