The trout bite is amazing on the nearshore wrecks

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

The trout bite is on fire fishing these nearby structures. These fish are very healthy feeding off big thread herring passing through the wrecks. Were freelining threadies with a 4/0 light wire circle hook and 40lb flourocarbon leader. These trout are ranging from 18" to 25". The snook are mixed in with the trout and that's why we use 40lb leader. Please don't net these snook and handle them with care. The snook are between 29" to 34". There's big spanish mackeral and a few 10-15lb kings being caught too.

Inshore fishing has been good in the late afternoon with the first part of the outgoing tide. The redfish push far back into the bushes on the high tides. Choice of bait is cut herring or ladyfish. Make sure the bait gets back into the bushes.
