WEDNESDAY,9-14-05: It is now 6:00PM here in Southport,NC and OPHILIA has picked up a little speed and is making her way 0ff to the NE FINALLY!!!!! We have dodged the main bullet because we had a mostly N NE NW wind which helped to keep the storm surge lower than it would have been. We have endured 40-50 mph winds with gusts up to around 70+. It is reported that the main issue with this storm will be the street and road flooding. There seems to be minamal structure damage except in isolated cases. Things should be back to NEARLY NORMAL by tomorrow evening (9-15-05). There has been a 6:00PM curfew for all of BRUNSWICK CTY. until 6:00AM. Be careful if you are out driving, reports are HWY. 17 has several places where it is under water. Did not tell where on 17 the road was flooded. We are going to try to start back fishing Friday. Things are supposed to start settling down tonight, we will have to wait and see. We can thank the LORD we were spared this time, this storm is going to end up being more an inconvenience, as far as the fishing segment goes, than anything else!!! Till next time, FISH ON!!! Capt.
