Red drum fishing in Charleston 4/23/06 (Pictures)

Postby Captain Rick Hiott » Sat May 13, 2006 11:54 am

I had two guys on 4/23/06. We started out by the Charleston jettys with cut bluefish on the bottom for the giant red drum.
These fish have just shown up for the season, only one was caught. It measured 41". Pictures were taken and the fish was realsed.

We came inshore and fished for the smaller reds off of the Intracoastal waterway.
Most of the fish were over 26" long with about 14 being caught on cut menhaden. Water temp was 69-70 degrees.
