ANOTHER GREAT DAY ON THE WATER

7-19-09 With the winds finally deciding to calm down and the seas deciding to smooth out we were back at it again today in search of King Mackerel and "something that pulls hard." Fishing with Steve Norris of Fayetteville, NC along with Dana Vorholt of Charlotte, NC and Nikki, Kim, and Jerry Vorholt of Charleston, WV was to say the least exciting and a lot of fun.
First stop it appeared as if the bait had moved on but after a 30 minute search Capt. Butch found the bait that he had been looking for and the downrigger reel started screaming as line began to be peeled off at a high rate of speed. By noon we had pulled off 14 King Mackerel and decided to try to find an Amberjack or two.
Capt. Butch went offshore a few more miles and after jigging up some live bait the crew soon found themselves hooked up with a 25lb Amberjack. We got another AJ in the boat and missed one more.
The fish are biting and it almost feels like fall in the air in the middle of July with these mid 80 temps and a nice breeze. Let's go fishing!
Fish on! Capt's. Butch and Chris Foster
