With the beautiful 70 degree and slightly overcast day planned ahead Capt. Butch and Barbara along with BoBo and myself decided to make a trip Whiting fishing. After fighting a little fog to get anchored up on our desired location, Capt. Butch had one in the boat before anyone else even had gotten their bait on! "They're biting!" he sounded and soon we all 3 were bringing Whitings in the boat at a regular pace!

Several other boats in the area were catching them as well and the bait of choice seemed to be cut Shrimp today. As the tide began to go slack the bite slowed and with a cooler full of Whitings for dinner we decided to try our luck at a Speckled Trout. Working our way down a creek, it wasn't long until I had missed a nice Trout, simply pulled the hook. A few more strong hits were to follow but the Trout seemed to not be on the menu for tonight and with it getting dark we decided to head to the hill and get these cleaned up for a meal.

Whitings are great eating white meat fish, we prefer to grill ours with Old Bay seasoning, but they are great fried as well and we use House Autry Seafood breader for this. The seem to be biting strong if you catch the tide right and can get on the school moving through. Hope to see you out there soon!

FISH ON!!!
