The date on the pictures are off by one day. The catch was actually made 5-4-05. No, it wasn't calm, it just wasn't as rough as it has been, but it was rough enough !!!!! Too rough to go to the stream, so Derek Savage and Rob Campbell found these 7 scamp grouper about 35 miles out . Rob has his hand on his 20.05 scamp, a NC Citation. Also in the fish box were some real nice black bass and trigger fish, but , with scamp grouper like these all of a sudden black bass and trigger fish don't seem to be real important!!!! Yes, if the winds will ever lay down, there is some awesome fishing just waiting offsore!!! Heard of a king mackeral being caught off of the pier, so they should be here before too much longer. The dolphin's are starting to show up more regular now in the stream area. The atlantic bonito are here, but, they won't be here too long, they don't hang around too long then they for the most part will be gone but are usually replaced with spanish mackeral. If you have ever wanted to catch some big blue fish, they were pretty thick at the tower area last week. All we need is some lighter winds, but if you fish and understand how the ocean works, then you already know that. Just keep your head up and keep thinking positive " IT WILL LAY DOWN"!!!!! sometime. Till next time, FISH ON!!! Capt. Butch and Capt. Chris Foster. Check out pic's on our site,
