5-31-05, Today was one of those days that you earn your keep. We wanted to go offshore but the stiff NE winds prevented that from happening. WEEELLLL, I haven't fished inside now for over two months, mainly because there wasn't a whole lot to fish for due to the cold weather and winds we have had this spring. but today that was just what we had to do and our quest turned out to be bottom fishing. After searching several of my most productive rocks and reefs, I soon realized my work was already planned for me. I would find a spot that looked promising and Capt. Chris would drop down to either find very few or very small takers waiting on the other end. OK, now the pressure was on!!! With this info. and the fact that there were no large schools of fish to be found, I started looking for the small schools that were located on the rocks in what seemed to be at a feeding position, and that was the key element, the fish that was on top of the high spots were feeding. With this in mind we proceded to anchor up right on top of these fish and our crew consisting of, Michael Snapp, Jay Snapp, and Joe Snapp were able to each get their limit of black bass along with several other species. They also hooked up with a Hammer Head Shark about 10 feet long was not able to hold on long until he prevailed victorious!!! But, it was a good battle for a while!!! Hey guys, really hate the weather made us stay inside today, but believe me, we didn't want to brave those elements today, but we still managed to have a great day of fishing and fun. Even finished the day off with some tasty spanish mackeral for the frying pan. Good fishing, good comraderie, and every one had a good time, what more could you want. Check out pic's on our site. Till next time, FISH ON!!!! Capt. Butch and Capt. Chris Foster. YEAH RIGHT SPORTFISHING CHARTERS, SOUTHPORT,NC (910) 845-2004. www.yeahrightcharters.com
