Wednesday, 7-6-05: Today we left out of St. James Marina with Jim Freudenberg, Jim Goodman, Mike Vignole, Joe Bukay, Jeff Cates, and Herb Hudson . We were in persuit of Mahi-Mahi and King mackeral. The weather man didn't promise us to good of a forecast. A SW wind down here more than 10 knots is not to good. 15 knots as predicted would not be good either, but we could fish it. Well as it does so many times, we had a 15 knot wind but they forgot to add the other 10 knots to it. But as you can see, we managed to pull some out. the fishing was slow everywhere. Other boats were reporting slow fishing. We found a concentration of bait and fish SW of the tower so I stuck with them for a while and managed a few fish from the mix. Just moved from spot to spot, hitting weed lines and fishing structure till we caught some fish on each place. Even dropped on one school and caught a few bottom fish before the tide went slack and they quit feeding. When things are slow, fish slow and methodically and change up patterns and tactics and you will usually find a technique that will trigger some bites. Another great day of fishing with a group of great guys!!! Thanks, Capt. Chris and I really enjoyed fishing with all of you!!! Check out pic's on my site!! Till next time, FISH ON!! Capt. Butch Foster, Capt. Chris Foster, and Bodie"the fish dog". Yeah Right Sportfishing Charters, Southport, NC (910) 845-2004.
