First trip to the Cape in years and it proved to be a good one!
With a date like 7/7/7 how could it not be right??
Started off early with all intentions of being off Race Pt casting for Tuna but the weather held us in the bay for a few extra hours, provided to be a good plan as we jigged up a handful of 20-30# bass and a few smaller blues 5-8#. After the seas layed down nicely we headed for the bigger water.

This was my first experiance chasing the Tuna and I can tell you I learned a lot - but still have a long way to go. Seeing schools breaking in the distance we headed at them, careful not to spook, we crawled up, anticipated direction and start casting away... nothing. After about 20 schools and 60 minutes of slight frustration and 30 or so great casts we hooked up.

After about a 15-20 minute fight on a 7' Tsunami M/H w/Baitrunner 6500 full of braid we had the fish in the boat and smiles were all around... WOW, its real - we had a tuna in the boat. 44" and estimated 50lb. Now that the ice is broken this should get easier right... wrong, they are still skiddish and have more hours on the water then you. Be paitent.

Heading down this weekend for the CCB Bass and Bluefish tourney out of Dennis, first time in this tourney as well and looking forward to a good time... you can bet once a few bass are in the boat and the seas are good a short trip to chase tuna will be needed.[/img]
