During September and October we have been experiencing some variable weather around Phuket. Then the NE monsoon season finally started, bringing together sunny skies during the day with few showers at night and flat calm sea conditions.

The fishing around the Rachas and the drop off showed some ups and downs with Wahoo, King Mackerel and Skypjack being the main catches.

Sailfish were still around although not in huge numbers and not everyday while few baby Marlin started to show up at the drop off .

In the second half of October instead the Similan Islands season kicked off and we are still having some extremely good fishing conditions over there with lots of Wahoo, Dorado and Yellowfin around the bamboo fads which have been put down by the local fishermen. At the same time bottom fishing also is producing some outstanding results.

To complete the party few Marlin and Sailfish have been caught mainly on lures while more have been sighted.

We also had the chance to visit Ko Rok Islands where the Sailfish are always very much around instead, giving to our lucky guests very good time in a breathless scenario.

Finally we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that we still have few slots available for the 2007 Andaman Islands Expedition during the first half of February and at the end of March. We then urge all the interested fellow anglers to contact us to join The Big Blues team in this unforgettable experience.
