This week SeaVee began work on my 31'. I'm so excited I'd like to share the construction pics. I can't emphasize enough how great it is working with Ariel and the folks at SeaVee. They have been FANTASTIC in every respect.

The bilge area has been sanded and prepped for gelcoat. Although it’s not very noticeable on the photo, they have also trimmed away the excess fiberglass along the edge where the hull and inner liner are joined.

Went down to SeaVee today and they've nearly completed all below deck plumbing and rigging. They're basically waiting for the cap which won't be out of the glass shop until later this week, or next. They'll also begin rigging the console next week...

Rudy,

Tell me about the oxygen system? Looks cool, do you have experience with one? I have seen the BMC advertised. How do you refill the tank?

Thanks much for all the pictures, MUCH appreciated. Looks like I can take her home next Wed.

Rick,

This will be my first time with an O2 system. I have no firsthand experience, but have heard from a few captains that it does supercharge the bait. We'll see. It's mainly intended for tournament time, but depending on how effective it is, I may use it daily. If so, I may get an extra cylinder...

SeaVee is installing the bracket shown above, but that's it. They didn't want any liability exposure arising from installing a high pressure gas tank/system.

I've been told that you can take the tank to any welding shop and they will refill it for a nominal fee. I haven't filled it yet so I don't know, but I think it's something like $5.

Wow, one week till delivery! That's great. I must say, she is the nicest 29' I've ever seen.

Oxygen

Rudy,

The reality was a delima. We loved the 31 like yours. Problem was when the dust setteled I trailer 60 mi 4-6 days a week year round right now and launch single handed. I felt the 31 was just to much for that, not to mention the additional 25k pushed my budget. My wife picked out the top and tackle center as must have's. At the time they had not yet done one, so I had concerns It would all look odd, but after seeing your pictures, I am happy.

That O2 system looks good. For me I was thinking of one for the reason of keeping some bait overnight in the well on the trailer. Crabs are 2$ apiece and hate to toss them every day! I believe its safe done right, but would want a oxygen cylinder at my house for the refill I think.

July 7:

It's been one week since my last visit to SeaVee. There isn't much noticeable difference in boat, but I thought I'd snap a photo anyway. After the long holiday weekend, they have finished all below deck rigging and were in the process of polishing the boat from bow to stern. The console had just come out of the fiberglass shop and was being prepped for rigging. The cap was due out of the glass shop tomorrow and could possibly be installed by Saturday...

Magic Hook,

As I pulled up to SeaVee today, I saw you pulling away with your new boat. That thing was pimped out. I love your izing glass enclosure with the red trim - sweet!

Darn!

Rudy,

I was there almost all day, I figured I might see you at some point. You are right they were waxing and tweaking for hours but she really looked good. I wish I had seen you for sure. I had her out today to play, and all went well. Its faster than I am used to, 42 mph, at 4000 rpm.
