This has been a crazy week of fishing. The mornings have been cool enough that you need to wear a heavy jacket when you go out early. About mid-morning it warms up to feel almost like summer.

The little redfish seem to have gotten thicker and when you get into a school of them they bite like they were starving but, their bellies are full of shrimp. That is because this moon has the shrimp running.

There wasa good bite of nice trout in the Haulover Canal and if you are close to the Nasa Causeway Bridge the big black drum have moved in around the bridge.

You can use a crab to catch the big Black Drum. Get a whole blue crab without pinchers, break the back off and break it in two pieces. Not only will you catch big black drum, you can catch some big redfish with it too.

If you can make it to the surf on the beach you can catch some large whitting and pompano.

Good luck fishing and take a child with you... teach him the right way to protect and use the environment.
