With the start of race week here in Daytona the fishing has been great wish I could say the same thing for the weather, Saturday the winds where around 15 knots and sea 3 to 5 feet. They remained that way until Wednesday where the sea laid down 3 to 4 foot mostly in an eastly swell, Thursday was not to bad but Friday the winds where back up to 20 plus knots. The air temp dipped down to the low 30s and with the high around the 60s that should change things hopefully for the good.

Trolling has been producing some nice catches of king mackerels and a few sailfish along with a lost dolphin or two. Out in the deep-water reports of big Wahoo and some black fin tuna are showing up on the break off of st Augustine. Most of the kings are on the reefs in 75 to 100 foot of water.

Bottom fishing has been very productive with some big grouper and limits of nice red snapper, mostly in the 100 to 180 foot range of water depth. The big amber jacks are on the wrecks in the same water depth.

Hope to seaya on the water soon
