inshore fishing report Mosquito lagoon area

Just got in from spending all day on mosquito lagoon. Trout are the best bet right now, cathing as many as you can handle once you find them. Most are small, under leagal size, but there are bigger ones in the bunch. Best bet for bait is finger mullet, either caught by cast net or store bought. The water is very clear right now so stay away from swivels and use the lightest, clearest line you can, but not to light, in case you happen to hook up on a big red. I went to several spots in my canoe, in waters that boats can not go. Follow the wind to find bunched up schools of mullet close to shore and stay just casting distance away from the school so you dont spook it or the fish.
