Wausau area fishing report

The pictures say it all - the smallmouth bass are biting! What a beautiful weekend to be on the water. Saturday I was joined by local resident Andy Beattie as we plied the local water in search of smallies; it didn't take long as the first 3 casts of the day all produced bass! From there it was steady action all morning with PT Pro Rattlers being the weapon of choice - we couldn't keep the fish off of 'em!

Sunday I was joined by Jim Prichard. We began by fishing some post-spawn walleyes and after a few hours of working Wally Divers and Berkley Flicker Shads, we had lost count of the fish! From there, we went in pursuit of more smallies and again scored big. The warmer the day got, the harder the bronzebacks were smashing our PT Pro Rattlers! Welcome to spring on the Wisconsin River system!

Tight lines,
