Incredible as it seems, Summer came to Michigan these past two weeks, and brought with it excellent trout fishing on the AuSable and Manstee rivers.
Water levels are down a bit because of the lack of rain, but the fish are feeding on hoppers, beetles, flying ants, BWO, and #16 mahoganies.
Grouse and woodcock are in pretty good abundance, as well--enough to keep the Setter's nose full of scent, if noat a mouth full of feathers since the leaves are still pretty thick.
But, all in all, a GREAT time of the year!
Tight Loops,
Capt. Tony
