Favorite Fishing Pranks

The most popular fishing practical joke is putting a bucket on someone's line and lowering it overboard when they're not looking and pretending they've got a hook up.

I've also heard of people putting a bowling ball into a bucket, attaching a wreath of sinkers to the line, attaching a rubber chicken, attaching a dead chicken and, the most unusual I've heard to date, attaching a sheep's head to the line and lowering it down...

Heard of anything crazier?

I've been asking anglers for input for narratives I'm writing for my book on celebrity fishing stories, and Rudy was kind enough to suggest posting here. If you have any other crazy practical jokes pulled on fishermen (salt or freshwater), please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Thanks for any help. Regards, Dave

A few pranks I have done on the water are the clasic " baitfish" in the can of pop trick. Many of my friends have fallen victim to this trick. It is a good laugh. Another one is cutting someones line, taping it then reeling over the tape. First cast after that will spend the rig into the drink for good...
there is always the dead fish in the back seat prank a la Grumpy old men...
Tuge and fishes,
Jamie
