Eight Tournaments added to list of qualifiers for
2006 Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship


DANIA BEACH, Florida, USA, (March 18, 2005) --- Eight global tournaments in 2005 have been added to an ever-growing list of approved qualifying events by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) for the 2006 Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship Tournament (OCT).

The winning teams from these 2005 tournaments will be invited to compete in the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship held in May of 2006.

The OCT is now in its seventh year.

“We expect the list of worldwide tournaments for the 2006 championship to continue to grow,” said Lynda Wilson, Rolex/IGFA tournament coordinator. “The 2005 championship qualifying series attracted a record 108 tournaments from 37 countries and 13 U.S. states representing over 20,000 anglers. Nearly 70 teams are expected for that championship to be held this upcoming May 15-21 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.”

The eight tournament additions for the 2006 series include:
