Puerto Vallarta Fishing (and Catching!) Report
October 22, 2005

The BIG GAME deep sea fishing has been great for the past couple weeks here in Puerto Vallarta. 300 TO 400LB. Yellow Fin Tunas, Blue and Black Marlin, Sailfish and some Dorados (Mahi Mahi). The areas to fish right now are the Corveteña aprox. 35 miles from the dock or the Banco aprox. 56 miles from the dock. 8, 10, and 12-hour trips are required for these areas.

The Large mouth Bass fishing at Cajon De Peña 7'000 acre fresh water lake seems to be good to great every time I go; last week was a slow bite in the morning but by 12:00 noon we were catching some 5 to 7 pounders, and a bunch of little practice “Big Lunker Wanabee's”!!! The scenery doesn't get any better than right now through March, it's a beautiful experience to see. Less than 2 hours from Puerto Vallarta.

Until the next report, keep a sharp hook ready for when you get here and we will make sure you get hooked up on the boat you choose. We are catching a wide variety of fish in all sizes right now but that just keeps it interesting.

See you when you get here! Capitan Steve Wharton. “VIA MAR” Deep sea fishing and Pro Bass Fishing Guide in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
