This fishing report is for the week ending 11-05-06
and is prepared by The Great Sailfishing Company which
operates out of the new Pez Vela Marina, Guatemala. The
fishing grounds for this past week varied between 20
miles to as far as 47 miles. Seas this week have
continued to stay calm with sunny skies and light to
no wind in the mornings.
This week saw good to very good results with boats
reporting raises in the teens to the low
thirties, with releases also in the high single digits
to low twenties on conventional tackle. We at the Great
Sailfishing Company hosted Dr.DeNunna and son who
fished with us for four days. Over 2 1/2 days
targeting Pacific sails they released a total of 31
sails along with boating 5 dorado (one in the 40lb +
class). The other 1 1/2 days they wanted to target
marlin. They had a nice 400+ pounder in the spreads
which attacked the teasers and then the bait but
failed to hook-up.
