This Guatemala fishing report is for the week ending December
24th 2006 and is prepared by The Great Sailfishing
Company operating out of the new Pez Vela
Marina.

This week saw the continuation of blue skies, calm seas and an
ever improving bite both offshore and inshore.
We reported last week on a few days that the Sinclair party fished
and were rewarded with raises in the 40-75 range each day. This snap
of the Cap’ns log shows the results of another fine days fishing with
75/66/45 raises, bites and catches respectively. It is certainly the
Season to be Merry down here !!.........not just fishing, but catching as
well !! As we came into the New Moon the fishing stayed close in at
12-30 miles and the Blue Water was apparent as close as 15miles.

The inshore fishing has been strong as well – the return of the
Commercial shrimping boats has given the fleet the ability to
focus on areas where there are bound to be fish – Amberjack
until your arms are sore, as well as a decent showing of school
yellowfin right off the beach. There have been some Roosterfish
caught in the melee as well, mostly being caught on fast trolled
Rappalas.

We at The Great Sailfishing Company would like to take the opportunity
to wish you and your families the best for the Season (and not just the
fishing Season !) – and a safe and prosperous New Year. We hope to
see more past clients early in the New Year, and would welcome the
opportunity to make 2007 the year that you finally catch that Sailfish
on the fly, join with your friends in a trip to remember, or introduce your
children to the thrill of offshore fishing in a safe and welcoming environment.
Whichever you aspire to…………..we hope to see you soon !

Our very Best wishes : Les, Carlos, Kevin & Jim
