As we have had some good fishing in December, Ed Dunklee called last minute to do some inshore fishing with Quepos Sailfishing Charters. He was here in January and released 8 Sailfish and Dorado he came this time in search of Roosterfish. From start to finish, my second visit to use Quepos Sailfishing Charters
> for my charters and hotel booking was executed flawlessly and I could not
> be more pleased, especially considering the last minute nature of planning
> the trip. Sam was an absolute blast to have around during my visit, and he
> was one of the highlights of the trip, for sure! On the first day of
> fishing, Sam joined me on the Flyatcher for a full day of inshore for
> Roosters. Captain Nano and his mate got us hooked up on 5 fish, and we
> landed two Roosters. It was great having both the mate and Sam give tips
> and pointers to reel in my very first and second Roosters, as it required
> more finesse than what I am used to offshore. All three of the guys were
> great.
On the second day of inshore fishing with the Flycatcher, a half day, we
> had many bites and landed 2 Jack Crevalles and it was a ton of fun to reel
> them in!
The mate and I also casted the popper from time to time and both
> of us got very excited when we spotted a school of Jacks materialize out
> of nowhere agressively pursuing the popper, that was an awesome sight!
> Just before wrapping up the day I had a big bite on the rod that I was
> freelining and set the hook into what we think was a decent sized snapper
> and thought we had a shot at a fish dinner, but that bad boy took off for
> the rocks about 10 minutes into the fight and managed to hide in a cave
> somewhere and we broke the line clean. Great experience! Nano and the
> mate were true professionals and I really enjoyed being out on thier boat.
> Can't wait to get back down again, and looking for a way to get back
> during the peak Sailfish season.
