MARATHON SEPT 15-OCT 3RD 2005

Postby DRAKE34 » Sun Aug 14, 2005 4:08 pm

GOING DOWN TO SPEND SOME TIME FISHING IN MARATHON. I HAVE A 24 cc AND WOULD LIKE TO FISH OFF SHORE. I HAVE FISHED THERE BEFORE WITH MY UNCLE UNTIL HE PASSED AWAY. THIS WILL BE MY FIRST TIME GOING OUT WITHOUT HIM. I HAVE ALL OF HIS EQUIPMENT, GPS AND ECT. I DO KNOW THE AREA PRETTY WELL FROM GOING WITH HIM FOR THE LAST 25YRS. I HAVE MY FRIENDS COMING DOWN FOR A WEEK AND WOULD LOVE TO HOOK THEM UP ON SHARKS TO FEEL THE FIGHT AND SEE ONE. ALSO, I AM GOING TO TAKE THEM FOR YELLOWTAIL, SNAPPER, AND GROUPER FISHING ON THE REEFS. DO I NEED TO DRIFT THE EDGE OF THE REEFS FOR BIG SHARKS WITH BONITO OR CAN I HOOK THE UP ON BIG SHARKS AROUND THE 7 MILE BRIDGE? LAST JAN. WE CAUGHT A COUPLE BIG HAMMERHEADS RIGHT BY THE BRIDGE ON BIG JACKS? DIDNT KNOW IF THOSE BIG SHARKS TEND TO MOVE OFFSHORE AS IT HEATS UP? ALSO, WHAT FISH ARE MOVING THROUGH AT THAT TIME. I WAS THINKING OF FISHING THE MARATHON HUMPS FOR BLACKIN IF THEY WERE AROUND AND ARE THERE STILL A FEW SAILFISH AROUND? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATFUL.
