new to flats fishing need some info

hello everyone im new to flats fishing and would like to know if anyone had any advice on some spots and some tips about catching fish around black point and or aroung monteys. Any information would help.

I've fished the areas north and south of the Black Point channel for trout. Just east of Black Point is Feather Bed Bank. This is a good area to sight fish for permit.

Ive been trying to go fishing since last week but the weather has been nasty i will try out your advice but i have just one mor question when i go out to fish by west Arsnick for bone fish do i get really close to the island or do i stay out in deeper water i dont know wear to go everyone tells me that the bone fish are everyware there but u cant seem to find them? what o you think

Where you fish will depend on the conditions. Sometimes you'll find them in very shallow water, barely enough to cover the fish, and other times they'll be in much deeper water.

If I had one suggestion, it would be to fish the flat on a low-rising tide. Work the edges and get closer. All the flats are different, and after you put in some time you will begin to spot fish. Note the location, feeding direction, tide stage, water temp, etc. If you pay attention, you will begin to see patterns.

HEY guys well just want to let all you guys know i still have not caught my fitrst snook on my boat but i have on the other hand caught about 10 lookdowns and about 5 permits and 1 small bone fish. i will be going fishing this week and i will let you guys know how i do.
