What would you do?
Posted: Mon Dec 20, 2004 2:36 pmMy long time fishing buddy and I have managed to wrangle a weeks fishing in Florida (all the way from England, no wives or kids! just fishing, fishing fishing!!!) Here's the dilemma. Do we fly to Tampa and fish the Gulf Coast or fly to Miami and fish the keys? having caught a 120lb Tarpon on the Gulf coast (didn't get a decent picture so I need another!!), I am a bit biassed towards there, but Dave is a keen fly fisherman stalking on the flts in the keys is also a big pull. We are coming over the first week in May and wonder what the locals would choose.
We just want to catch fish - any fish - we will probably do a couple of boat charters and the rest of the time from the shore / piers / etc.
Let us know what you think. I will put the same post on the gulf coast forum to see what the folks over there say!
