Keeper Grouper, Snapper; Big Kings & Shark: SW FL Fishbu

Postby fishbuster » Sun May 18, 2003 5:40 pm

8) We fished with Gregg Bedell Thursday and Friday. Thursday, at the 240 Ledge, we caught keeper mangrove snapper and lane snapper, and Spanish mackerel to 25 inches. We released grouper shorts. Friday, friend, Tybe, joined us, and we fished 28 miles out of New Pass in 67 feet. Tybe caught a keeper red grouper and all the keeper mangrove snapper for the day. Gregg caught keeper lane snapper, and released a 44 inch king mackerel, a 40 inch sharp-nose shark, and lots of red and gag grouper shorts. Fishing Saturday with the Jim Padavic party, over live bottom in 26-35 feet off Naples, we caught two limits of mangrove snapper to 14 inches, a 15 inch yellowtail snapper, keeper triggerfish to 14 inches, and nice sized porkfish. We released red grouper to 18 inches, ladyfish, and blue runners. Sunday, fishing with Dick Wilson, in 30 feet off Naples, we caught two keeper gag groupers at 23 inches and 24 inches, seven keeper mangrove snapper, triggerfish, grunts and porkfish. We spotted a big cobia and a 4 foot sharp-nose shark. Find complete info and fish photo album at www.fishbustercharters.com
