I fished Monday with the John Pear party, in 32 feet off Naples. We caught six keeper mangrove snapper, 7 keeper triggerfish, a dozen grunts, and porkfish. We released lots of blue runners, and gag and red grouper shorts.

I fished the bay on Friday with Carl and Susan Barker. Fishing the waterways leading to Wiggins Pass with live shrimp, we caught six keeper mangrove snapper, and released smaller snapper, sheepshead, jack cravalle, and a 3 ½ foot bonnet-shark.

Saturday morning, we fished with George & Bob Cordoza in the bay, along the inside of New Pass, until the rain-storm approached. We caught and released a 20 inch snook, then made a run for the dock, as the skies let loose. Fishing again with the Cordozas on Sunday, this time offshore, at the Bonita reefs. We had some crabs for bait, and set out looking for permit, but there were too many boats out this holiday weekend to do much good there. We had fun with two goliath grouper, which eventually broke our lines. We also caught and released keeper-sized Spanish mackerel and triggerfish, along with gag grouper shorts.
