Bay Snook & Reds; Gulf Mackerel: Bonita Beach, FL Fishbu

Postby fishbuster » Sat Sep 27, 2003 3:25 pm

I fished with brothers Gilford and Houston Crane on Monday around Spring Creek in Estero Bay, and at the oyster bars. Using shiners, we caught 8 snook to 27 inches (one keeper), two redfish to 22 inches, and jack cravalle to 4 pounds. Fishing central Estero Bay with shiners again Tuesday with Chris Garner and Joe Moon, we caught a 28 inch snook and three keeper mangrove snapper, and had fun with some jacks.

Wednesday, I headed offshore to the Bonita artificial reefs with Steve Parker and friends Bob & Lynn Giarla. We caught a mess of Spanish mackerel to 26 inches, and keeper triggerfish, using live shrimp and shiners. We also had our lines broken by goliath grouper. Saturday, I dodged rain in central Estero Bay with Joe Braden and friends, Claudia, Nick & Glen. We used shrimp and shiners to catch keeper mangrove snapper, and released jack cravalle and stingray. A couple of folks had their lines broken by big redfish. Find complete info and fish photo album at www.fishbustercharters.com
