I know the power is still down in some spots in Bonita, but just wanted to check in and see how you made out?

Rick, Thanks so much for checking on us--We just got our e-mail back up and running this evening, and I have been sorting through a couple hundred e-mails all night, after being down for 9 days. No power for 5 of those. But, we were lucky--No house damage--Just yard damage, and thank goodness the storm surge never happened. Man, it was scary for a while--A neighbor measured 4 gusts at over 110mph. we are so glad to be back to normal--loving the PC, microwave, air conditioner, oven, washer & dryer...all the stuff we take for granted. I keep thinking about those folks to the north of us who were not nearly so lucky. Our daughter lives in GG, and they made out fine, so we assume and hope that you did too. Thanks again.

Dave,

I am really glad all is well. I feel so lucky to have dodged that one we were vey blessed to be so lucky. Its hard to complain about power and the loss of a few minor things when you look at the TV and it looks like a bomb went off.

I am glad you are back in the game and catching em'.

We just returned from a week in Marathon and had a blast with tuna and dolphin. We did jump two sailfish also. Looks like our Bimini trip this weekend is shot down though.

Yep, we sure dodged a bullet on Charley--I am watching Frances now, with an apprehensive eye...Glad to hear you had fun in Marathon. Those sailfish are a treat, I bet. I am not fishing until Wednesday this week. Take care. Captain Dave

Dave,

Hopefully it will stay East of here! We had a trip to Bimini and planed to stay at Bimini Sands. They refuse to refund our deposit if we cancil. They are NUTS! Next time its the Big Game Club for us.

I am out Thurs. and if weather permits Sat. This week.

Yeah, that cone of possible landfall is disconcerting, isn't it? Looks like the approach Andrew had, which would be bad news for the other coast, unless it ends up turning away from FL all together. I see winds predicted here at 25 mph Saturday...I had a trip going out Sunday too, but we'll see about that...

The Bimini folks are being totally unreasonable...Makes ya wonder about some folks, huh?

EXACTLY what we thought its right on the Andrew track!

I think Sat. will be a blow out even here, but hopefully not. Be carefull you if you go, likely will be tornado warnings.

Bimini Sands was very cold on the phone again, only saying its "our policy" I guess even if the roof blows off you have to be there.

I just called the cc company and explained, they took the deposit off.

Cool, Rick-That is the nice thing about paying by credit card--You have recourse against unreasonable people. Glad you will be getting a credit on that. Still no more definite prediction on Frances' course--You and I are both likely to lose our weekend trips, I bet. But, that's the least of the worries with another Cat 4 out there. You be careful too.
