Vortex Charters Fishing Report

This past week, we have caught everything from large Spanish mackerel to 6 pounds, Kingfish to 25 pounds, Gag Grouper to 15 pounds, sharks and ‘Cuda’s!
I guess you can say it does not get much better that this!

On Saturday, we anchored over hard bottom in 60 feet and caught Gag after Gag using frozen sardines as bait. Once my clients tired of that, we began to troll Blue Runners and Cigar Minnows. Within 10 minutes we had our first strike and a 12 pound King.
We followed up with a few large Spanish Mackerel and then called it a day.
If our Fall warm weather continues, we may see Kingfish until Christmas!

Inshore, Trout and Redfish action is steady along the deeper edges of any local grassflat.
The winter ‘yellow-mouthed’ specks are beginning to show mixed in with our year-round bretheren. These fish are much larger than the local trout; making them fine table fare.
Good Fishin’ to ya!
