This past week, the Suncoast has not lived up to its’ namesake.
Southwest winds have brought thunderstorms and showers in from the Gulf for the past 5 days, making a run offshore impossible.
We did manage to slip in a shortened inshore trip on Saturday and found the skinny water species in a biting mood.
Lakeland residents Amanda and Todd Darby, along with friend Bill, managed to entice a couple of nice Redfish to the boat. They were using Shrimp and greenbacks for bait and caught these fish in 2 feet of water.
Fishing the same area closer to the channel produced a number of Seatrout; one which was long enough to keep. Friend Bill added a nice keeper Flounder which was released unharmed.
Once the lightening moved closer to our spot, we decided to call it a day.
Tight Lines!
