The last 2 days have been exceptional for getting offshore !
We have found Grouper at every ledge from 50 to 100 feet, with most of the Red Grouper coming from the 90-100 foot swiss-cheese bottom. The Gags are staying close to shore for this time of year, possibly signaling an early Fall migration. We have thrown back many shorts in this area, the key to tangling with a bruiser is to stay in the same spot for at least an hour.
Inshore, Pompano are making a good show despite dredging operations in Pass-a-Grille.
They have moved inside to feed on adjacent grassflats, where small crustaceans and shrimp are in abundance.

Tight Lines!
