FL CAPTAINS REPORT -

01/28/05 44 hr Middle Grounds: Once again the weather made things difficult for us offshore. The forecast was for NE-E winds 20 KTS diminishing to 10 Kts on Saturday, but the wind never let up until Sunday morning at 2am. We steamed to the Elbow again this weekend and fished mostly between 160 – 230 ft. We did manage to catch a good variety of fish like Mutton, yellowtail, Mangrove, lane, vermillion snapper, Gag, Red, Scamp and a 30lb Warsaw Grouper. The Amberjacks cooperated well; the largest AJ was about 40lbs. We had a slow pick the whole trip, along with rain and wind it became a game of patience that the hardcore anglers dealt well with. The Jackpot winners were Steve Fisher from Bradenton FL with the Largest Grouper Going about 20 lbs, J Jason of Boynton bch FL with a Mangrove Snapper of 8.5 Lbs and Joe McKenzie of Indian Rocks beach FL taking the Amberjack pool with a 26 pounder. To see photos of this trip check our photo gallery @ vikingfleet.com. We still have some room on the next 44 hr trip on 02/04 so call soon and make a reservation. Hopefully the fish will be more kind to us. Rich
