Rookie in Pensacola

Hi everyone,

I am new to Pensacola and need some good tips from you guys. In Connecticut I used to catch monster Bluefish like crazy surf casting from August through November. Early Spring I would freshwater fish for trout and bass. I used to "kill em" using a flouresent Mepps no. 1 for the Browns and Rainbows, Rubber Worms for the Largemouth Bass.

Now that I am a native Pensacolan, I am trying to learn new techniques in catching species of fish I'm not familiar with. I would love to know what you guys use to catch Specled Trout and some good areas in the Greater pensacola areas. I read that March is a good time. I probably will start there but had a terrible year last year off of the pier. I don't have a boat so I fish wherever I can.

I saw some of the articles and you know your stuff. You can bet I'll be paying attention this year to how you guys are doping and how your doing it (catching fish). Now if this was a golf forum I would be helping you out. I play to a 4 handicap and when I start to "go South" and my game isn't on, I usually fish. This year I intend to split my time equally no matter what I shoot in golf.

Have a Great Year,
Kahuna Jim of Pensacola
