Mixed box on a windy day 5-7-07 trip

Postby Capt Marty » Wed May 09, 2007 7:54 pm

Mark Guarisco, Sam Guarisco, Matt Guarisco, and JJ Kleles fished with me today. Mark is in town from Texas and wanted to feel the pull of a few fish before he left. Although today was not the best conditions to be out fishing, we made the best of it and put a mixed box of trout and reds in the cooler. We had about a 1 hour window to fish for trout until the wind picked up and managed to put close to 15-20 in the boat but only 7 made it in the box. The 7 that made it were all nice trout, including a 4 pound-er that explosively hit my LSU chub under a school of MULLET. We pulled out 12 reds out the ponds and put 8 in the box. Saw a few more working some bait against the bank but did not get any hook ups. All in all we made the best of a bad day!!! Everyone caught fish, and Mark had a nice fight with a healthy Dularge red to end the day. As always I had a great time with you guys today. Looking forward to get you on a good night (trout) trip later on this summer.
