8-18-07 Good Day on the DU
Posted: Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:23 pmToday I had the pleasure of taking Mr Johnny Cowen and his son Cody, and Neal Cowen and his son Johnny. I picked up the guys at the Reel Inn bright and early and was heading South. We were greeted with slick seas and slim to no wind. We arrived at our first stop and commenced to slinging some really nice fish in the boat (6 fish over 3 #'s). We steadily had fish coming in, if not you would at least get a bite on every cast.
I could have taken a good picture of the idiot of the day, but did not want to interrupt my fishing. White Triton, Honda motor with power pole. Sees us reeling in fish and comes right over where my crew is catching fish with his big motor. People, stop 100 yards out, put your troll motor down and move in quietly so you don't spook the fish. How hard is it?
OK back to fishing. With barely no current moving the bite slowed, so we made a couple moves. At our 4th stop, we got on them pretty good again and was putting some real solid 1 1/2 - 3 # trout in the box. It was getting hot, so we called it a day at 11:00 with 60 fish. We actually left the fish biting when we called it a day. The Cowen clan had a great time Duin the Du and could not get over the quality size we caught today. I belive everyone in the boat caught their biggest trout today.. Thanks again guys for the great company.
