Another Good day on the Du 10-21-07

Postby Capt Marty » Mon Oct 29, 2007 5:14 pm

Helped out Capt. Bill today with Terry, Mike, Maribah Cowley from Nevada and Charlie Chapman from Lafayette. The morning started off with nice calm winds, but as the day progressed the winds really kicked up!! The trout tried evading us for the most part this morning, as they were not where they have been the last couple days. We did however manage to catch a few trout at every stop. Our last stop was the best, producing many 15-16 inch trout. LSU Chubs tight-lined and Chartreuse Sparkle Beetle under a bob-er were the bait's of choice. We hit the ponds after the trout bite ended and it did not take long for Charlie to hook up with a nice red. It was a slow day today in the ponds where I was, the reds were not as active as yesterday. We put eight in the box and had four throwback's, one break off and one that spit the hook (guess he was a Auburn Fan!!!!!!) . I was waiting on the tide to fall (hoping the reds would turn on), but it never did. The stiff East winds pushed water in all day, no problem going anywhere you wanted today. Ended the day with a nice box of fish for guys and gal, and some good memories. Thank you guys....Great time as always.
