Hey to all, I am new to fishing saltwater oringinlly from Little Rock AR, just wanting to share and trade some fishing reports.
I fished new years eve around 1 to 5 incoming tide fishing around old bridge pillings near Ocean Springs bridge using live and and fresh shrimp I normally use 1 1/2 oz weight with mono leader. I took my daughter and her pole was riged with braid and split shot weight I quickly found out that was the right rig, as she was catching all the fish on her little pole. I then cut my leader and added split shots with good results. We boated over 20 black drum and 1 red 24 in. The black drum are hot right now but the reds are hard to come by. I had similar results earlier that week lots of black drum and 1 red.
