Actually found some good numbers of trout in LA Marsh yesterday! Had the Joe Wronkowski group from Mandeville and parts unknown. We used his Triton Sea Flight, which is a very cool boat. Started our day looking for redfish but were met with dirty, low water. Around Noon we found what we were looking for on the East side of the marsh. Pretty green, higher, warmer water. Spent a while messing with the bull reds and black drum. Broke off a few and pulled the hook on many. Did get 6 or so in the boat for pictures. Kept one smaller one for the grill. Little after 1pm we saw slicks popping up and hit pay dirt. Almost every cast was met with a strike and we put 32 keeper trout in the box before pulling the plug. Used popping corks all day. Been throwing the Marsh Works Tackle shrimp in the Killa Squilla color. Very tough baits and the fish seem to really like them. Smooth ride all day and the weather was perfect. Spring is here, lets go fishing!!!
