Tough Day on the DU 4-6-2012

Postby Capt Marty » Sun Apr 15, 2012 12:40 pm

I had three boats out on Friday. On my boat I had Warren, Heidi, Andrew Jones, and Andrew Odwyer. Capt Travis Miller had Ross Bernard's crew, and Capt Rodney 'Trout HOG' Bourqe had Mr Jack Whitehead. We report all trips(good & bad), I'm very thankful that there is not many bad to report. It was a tough day from start to finish as the trout never cooperated most of the day. It was 1-3 here and there, at almost every stop. Most of the birds were holding Gaff Tops and small trout. We did hit one flock of birds that produced non stop every-cast action for a good 20 minutes, but most of the fish were small with some keepers mixed in. We worked long and hard and managed to put a small box of trout and flounder together (nothing like it has been day in and day out). All crews had a blast regardless of the tough bite, as there was a lot of knowledge gained on the trip. All of our fish came on avocado Cocodrie Cocahoes and avocado Matrix Shad. Thanks so much to all the customers and to the Capt's for your hard work.
