Anyone Planning Dry Tortugas Trips?

Postby topangler » Sat Mar 15, 2003 11:43 am

Is anyone planning any Dry Tortugas trips in the near future?

Anyone been lately?

I was thinking about going down there but the campground is closed until summer.

Well that would certainly explain the lack of response....

Why is it closed? When will it reopen?

TT..From the park's website:\

The campground is closed due unusual amounts of rain causing septic system failure.
The park service is working on fixing the problem.

Dry tortugas information

Postby heylenny » Thu Apr 17, 2003 11:25 pm

Not exactly sure about the camping, however, I have done a great many mother ship trips to the dry tortugas, only to fish the flat down there. Awesome fishing, like fishing the south Pacific.

I know that the charter boat service Andy Griffiths charter does offer trips to the Marquesas and the dry Tortugas. Ph#(305)292-2277
Capt. Lenny, offering profesional guided flats fishing trips in Keywest, fl. Fly-fishing or light-tackle fishing for Tarpon, Permit, and Bonefish.
We have fun!
