I have fished the gulf in my Kayak. I troll a spoon in between the sand bars and catch lady fish, blue runners.

You can also catch redfish and pompano. Some people will fish with live bait and catch sharks.

As far as spots, park at the main access behind the Red Bar. There you will have easy access to Western Lake and the gulf. There are a few locals that kayak fish there almost every day.

Let me know if you have any specific questions. There are some fishing threads on the sports forum on SoWal.com- http://www.sowal.com/bb/forumdisplay.php?f=16
