Can anyone recomend a flats boat that rides smooth and keeps you dry in rough weather and side chop?

First, I don’t own a flats boat… So, I can only speak from past experiences. Here are three which fit your specifications and I would recommend you have a look at:

Maverick (not Hewes):

Action Craft

Dolphin Boats

Dolphin Boats is probably the smallest of the companies mentioned above, but don’t overlook them.

I have a very dry 18' flats boat I had custom built here in Titusville I'm trying to get rid of for a new one. It's 3 years old, drafts 6"..I've measured it properly in the flats.

Hews/Maverick builds a quality boat but I'd have to say out of all the big name boats out there, the Action Craft dry hull is one of the best.
