BountyFishing.com Announces Tournament to Benefit Lung Cancer

Montreal, Quebec [October 28, 2008]-- BountyFishing.com, home of the world’s largest fishing tournament, announced today that it will be holding a charity fishing event to benefit Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA), the only non-profit organization dedicated solely to patient support and advocacy for those living with or at risk for lung cancer. “Bounty Fishing for Lung Cancer” will take place from November 24-30th, during Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and 100% of the proceeds will go to LCA. The tournament will follow BountyFishing.com’s usual “catch anywhere, submit online” format.

“My mother Marleen, a non-smoker, was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 49 and died six months later”, said Richard Shafter, founder and CEO of BountyFishing.com. “It was my painful, personal experience with this disease that prompted my desire to raise awareness and funds for Lung Cancer Alliance.”

Besides educating federal & state policy leaders on the need for greater resources for lung cancer research, LCA also works to raise national awareness, and offers free patient support programs. Among these programs are a toll-free information hotline, a toll-free clinical trials matching service, a peer-to-peer phone buddy program, and an on-line survivors community.

Anglers are encouraged to register at http://www.bountyfishing.com/tournament/select and to invite family and friends to support this very important cause.

Donations can be made at http://www.lungcanceralliance.org/donat ... online.htm where gifts should be made in honour of "Bounty Fishing for Lung Cancer".

The species for this charitable tournament will be largemouth bass north, largemouth bass south, smallmouth bass, walleye, red drum, and sea trout. Complete rules and restrictions are available at http://www.bountyfishing.com/enterprise/rules.

Some statistics about lung cancer:
• Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, taking approximately 1.2 million lives worldwide every year.
• Lung cancer causes more deaths than the next four most common cancers combined (colon, breast, pancreatic, and prostate).
• In 1987 lung cancer surpassed breast cancer to become the leading cause of cancer deaths in women.
• Lung cancer will kill nearly 70,000 women in the U.S. this year, which is more than breast and ovarian cancers combined and over 90,000 men in the U.S., which is more than colon and prostate cancers combined.
• Lung cancer is deadlier to women than breast cancer yet breast cancer gets almost 10 times more research funding per death than lung cancer.

Postby delawarebass » Mon May 18, 2009 2:08 pm

I know a lot of you guys on here are young and in high school and college and a lot do not have a boat, and I thought you may be interested in this. You can compete in your own area and on your own time for cash in tournaments and you dont need a boat to win. Just take a look and tell me what you think. To see the whole program or to register just click the link and go to CASH TOOURNAMENTS or click on any Bounty Fishing banner on the site. Good Luck, Steve

WEEKLY TOURNAMENTS

Win money every week you compete! During regular tournament seasons, weekly cash
rewards will go to the top largest fish in EACH of the eligible species.

Check our schedule to see the prize structure for each of our tournments. In addition to our regular cash prizes we may also be giving away "bonus" prizes provided by our sponsors. So check regularly and enter often!

Still not sure how it works? Checkout our step-by-step instructions and learn how to enter and compete.

The winners will be announced within 48 hours of the conclusion of the weekly tournament. Cash prizes will be awarded within 30 days.

BOUNTYRECORDS - Challenge

FREE to compete. BountyFishing is offering its members the potential to win weekly cash rewards for breaking the BountyRecords for any of the open species.

Here is how it works:

If you haven't done so already, join BountyFishing as a member so you can log on any time. The competition is available to all BountyFishing members.

Before you go fishing, retrieve a computer generated BountyCode from the BountyFishing website. The BountyCode is valid only for the week it is issued. This BountyCode will be used to verify your catch and MUST be visible in your photo of "Fish with Ruler".

You can submit fish for as many eligible species as you like. Please remember, you are judged on the LENGTH of the fish and NOT the weight.

Email your photos to [email protected] prior to the close of the weekly BountyRecord competition- midnight on Sunday.

Check the BountyRecords page for the Bounty (prize money) available for each species. At the end of each week, BountyFishing will validate all of the week's submissions and determine if the previous BountyRecord has been broken. If your fish establishes a new record, the Bounty for that species is yours and we will reset the amount. For any species whose record was not broken in the previous week, BountyFishing may add even more money to the available Bounty.

Read The BountyRecords Challenge Rules

Five important details to keep in mind:

It is Free to play in the BountyRecords Challenge but you must be a member of our community. Join now if you haven't already done so. It's absolutely free to become a member.
