Costa Rica--- Marlin Time !!!

Postby baker » Sun Jul 05, 2009 10:45 am

We´re already seeing an increase in marlin numbers offshore, with August usually the start of the annual marlin run here in South Pacific Costa Rica.

The billfish are only 7-10 miles out, and huge schools of juvenile baitfish are keeping them there. The big yellow fin tuna should also be coming in soon. We´ve got a lot of football -class tuna, 5-20 lbs. right now.

Dolphin fish (mahi--dorado) are here, but not in strong numbers as yet. Most boats getting out are seeing maybe one to three come over the side daily, usually dependent on finding a good weed line and current break out there.

Inshore continues very strong. Snook, snapper, African pompano(yum!) and the fantastic roosterfish are all fishing well. Not many of the ¨Snowbird¨lodges open right now. Just us full -timer´s.

We´re offering a special from now until Dec.1. Fish a 4-day package, get an extra fishing day FREE.

Now´s the time to book if you´ve always wanted to be connected to a huge marlin for a few hours. Sound like fun??

contact me at : [email protected] for reservations.
